Man United goalkeeper Senne Lammens described the thrilling 3-2 victory at Arsenal as “one of the better feelings” of his career, highlighting the combination of hard work and tactical discipline that secured the win.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Lammens reflected on the significance of the away triumph and the team’s collective effort.
“It was one of the better feelings of my career! Last week [vs Man City] was at home, also really nice, really special. But this one felt like a little bit more hard work. It wasn’t always the best play from us but that’s also the games you have to win if you want to be at the top. We did that,” Lammens said.
He praised the impact of substitutes and the importance of teamwork.
“Hard-working, defending together and then at the end the subs, [Matheus] Cunha made a difference. It gives our team the energy, the people who come in as well. Big applause to him as well.
“There aren’t that many special things [Michael Carrick] did, it’s just stick to the basics. Football is basics. If you do the basics well then the quality of us comes out.
“We have players with the quality that can make the difference. But if you just do the basics right, tactically we’re standing right, defending good together, as a team….
“He made it really clear what he wants from us, what he expects from us. [On Sunday] on the pitch sometimes it didn’t really come out but if you fight as a team and keep believing in it, you can still get the win.”
Lammens’ words underline the grit, tactical awareness, and squad depth that have been central to the Red Devils’ climb in the Premier League, showing that success comes as much from discipline and teamwork as individual brilliance.
