Inter continued their relentless march at the top of Serie A with a commanding 5-0 victory over Sassuolo at the MAPEI Stadium, sealing an eighth straight away win and another clean sheet.
Goals from Yan Bisseck, Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez, Manuel Akanji and Luis Henrique ensured the Nerazzurri stayed firmly in control of the title race, moving onto 58 points and maintaining their grip on first place.
Straight from kick-off, Inter showed authority, but it was their composure and game management that once again stood out.
After the final whistle, Head Coach Cristian Chivu reflected on what the performance said about his team’s evolution.
“Tonight’s win shows how much we’ve grown. We understood the moment, we absorbed their intensity and direct play, but stayed in the game and struck at the right moments,” Chivu said.
“Being clinical and efficient says a lot about our development; this team is more mature in adapting to the flow of the match.
“We know the work we’ve done and what we still want to achieve. We mustn’t forget where we came from or what it took to get here. There’s no room for fear, only that we can keep improving.”
He added: “The season is long, and these are the crucial periods. We’re halfway through the marathon with plenty of games left, but we have the ambition and mindset to stay competitive.
“This is about the whole group, everyone working hard, wanting to make an impact, and supporting the team. We need the energy of the entire squad to maintain our level.”
With 14 matches still to play and key clashes ahead, including a showdown with Juventus, Chivu kept expectations grounded.
“Inter-Juventus? It’s just another game. We know expectations are high, but I trust this group. They have ambition and are always looking to be competitive.”
For now, Inter remain in pole position, moving with confidence, control and a clear sense of purpose as the title race gathers pace.
