Watford have moved swiftly to appoint Ed Still as their new head coach, handing the 35-year-old a two-and-a-half-year deal at Vicarage Road.
The bilingual coach, fluent in English and French, arrives with continental experience and is also known as the brother of former Southampton boss Will Still.
Momentum now shifts to the pitch, with Still set to take charge of his first match when the Hornets travel to face Preston on Saturday.
He joins from Belgian side Anderlecht, where he most recently stepped in as caretaker manager, adding further senior experience to his growing CV.
Speaking after his appointment, Still made his ambitions clear.
“I’m so thrilled and proud to be here,” he told watfordfc.com. “This is a club which has a big place in English football and a fantastic history.
“All of the focus will be on winning games as quickly as possible and getting the best out of the players. Fans can expect our team to be aggressive, really compact defensively and attack with pace.”
Behind the scenes, continuity has also been addressed. Charlie Daniels, who guided the side on an interim basis over the last two fixtures, will remain as First Team Coach, while Karim Belhocine also joins the coaching staff in the same role.
With a fresh voice in the dugout and a clear tactical identity promised, Watford will be aiming to kick-start a positive run as a new chapter begins under Ed Still.
