Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Igor Tudor as head coach until the end of the season, with the Croatian tasked with steadying the ship during a critical period of the campaign.
Tudor steps in following the dismissal of Thomas Frank, with Spurs currently sitting 16th in the Premier League table, just five points above the relegation zone.
Survival is the immediate priority as the north London side look to halt a worrying slide in form.
Confirming the decision, the club outlined its expectations in an official statement.
“Igor joins us with a clear focus: to improve performances, deliver results and move us up the Premier League table,” the statement read on the club’s official website.
“His mandate is straightforward – bring organisation, intensity and competitive edge to the squad at a decisive stage of the campaign.”
Speaking after his arrival, Tudor acknowledged both the size of the task and the opportunity ahead.
“It is an honour to join this club at an important moment,” said Tudor. “I understand the responsibility I have been handed and my focus is clear. To bring greater consistency to our performances and compete with conviction in every match.
“There is strong quality in this playing squad, and my job is to organise it, energise it and improve our results quickly.”
Sporting director Johan Lange believes Tudor’s profile fits the challenge Spurs currently face.
“Igor brings clarity, intensity and experience of stepping into challenging moments and producing impact.
“Our objective is straightforward – to stabilise performances, maximise the quality within the squad and compete strongly in the Premier League and Champions League.”
Tottenham are expected to conduct a full search for a permanent successor in the summer, following Frank’s exit earlier this week after a home defeat to Newcastle United.
In the meantime, Tudor’s short-term brief is clear: results, resilience, and renewed belief.
