Fermin Lopez continues to prove he has a striker’s touch from midfield, after equalling his best-ever goalscoring return in an FC Barcelona shirt.
The Andalusian has now struck 11 goals in all competitions this season, drawing level with his total from the entire 2023/24 campaign.
Momentum swung firmly in his favour once again on Sunday, when he found the net in a commanding 3-0 La Liga victory over Levante at the Spotify Camp Nou.
What makes Fermin’s output stand out is not just the volume, but the variety. Comfortable off either foot, Barcelona’s number 16 has developed a reputation for spectacular finishes rather than simple tap-ins.
His latest effort, a fierce left-footed strike from outside the box that clipped the post on its way in, summed up his confidence perfectly.
“I saw the gap and it turned out to be a goal. I can shoot with both feet, I train on that a lot. It’s a quality I picked up and trained on it at Linares on loan. When I came back to Barca I kept on working and I try to help the team with it,” said Fermin.
Looking at the numbers, Fermin’s growth is clear. After announcing himself to the first team with a memorable goal against Real Madrid in a pre-season Clasico during 2023/24, he finished that campaign with 11 goals.
Fast forward to 2025/26, and he has already matched that figure in just 32 appearances.
Five of his goals this season have come off his right foot, six with his left. He has delivered across competitions too, scoring five times in the Champions League, five in La Liga and once in the Spanish Super Cup, with only the Copa del Rey yet to see his name on the scoresheet.
As the season races on and silverware comes into focus, the Barca young star looks well placed to push beyond previous limits and continue setting new benchmarks: all while driving Barcelona forward from midfield.
