Kane hits 50 Champions League goals as Bayern thrash Atalanta

Harry Kane etched his name into history, becoming the first Englishman to score 50 UEFA Champions League goals as Bayern Munich brushed aside Atalanta with a commanding 10-2 aggregate victory.

Carrying momentum from their emphatic first-leg win in Bergamo, Bayern pressed forward again and sealed a 4-1 triumph at the Allianz Arena.

Consequently, the Bundesliga giants now march confidently into a blockbuster quarter-final showdown with Real Madrid.

Right from kickoff, Bayern dictated the tempo. Leading the line and captaining the side in Europe for the first time, Kane quickly made his presence felt.

Although his initial penalty was saved, a retake, awarded due to early movement, allowed him to calmly slot home and open the scoring.

Moments later, he shifted gears and doubled the lead with a clinical, well-crafted finish, bringing up his milestone in just 66 appearances.

As the match progressed, Bayern maintained relentless attacking pressure.

Luis Diaz and rising youngster Lennart Karl added further gloss to the scoreline, combining pace and precision to stretch Atalanta’s defence.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jonas Urbig, stepping in amid injury concerns, delivered crucial saves to deny any potential comeback.

Midway through the second half, Kane struck again: this time with style.

Gliding past defenders with sharp footwork, he unleashed a powerful effort into the net, underlining his world-class quality.

Shortly after, quick interplay between Kane and Diaz set up Karl, who found the net to further extend Bayern’s dominance.

Atalanta, however, managed a late consolation through Lazar Samardzic, but by then, the contest was long decided.

The Bavarians had already shifted into cruise control, showcasing both depth and attacking brilliance.

All in all, this was a statement performance. With Kane in record-breaking form and the team firing on all fronts, Bayern now turn their focus to the next challenge: a high-stakes clash against Real Madrid where momentum will be key.
