Jan Virgili open to Barcelona return summer move

Jan Virgili has sparked fresh transfer buzz after admitting a potential return to FC Barcelona would be difficult to turn down.

As the summer window approaches, speculation continues to build around Barcelona’s attacking plans.

The Catalan giants are reportedly weighing up a move to bring Virgili back instead of activating a €30 million option for Marcus Rashford: a decision that could reshape their forward line.

When asked directly about a possible return, Virgili didn’t hesitate to express his feelings.

“Well, if Barca called me, it would be hard to say no,” he said.

The winger, who made the switch to Real Mallorca last summer, reflected on his journey and the emotional ties he still holds with his former club.

His development through Barcelona’s ranks remains a defining chapter of his career.

“It was a dream come true for me. Plus, the great year we had with the Juvenil A team, winning the Cup, the League and the Champions League, and then playing with the reserve team, was an unforgettable experience,” he revealed.

However, the transition to senior football did not unfold as expected, prompting his eventual move away from Camp Nou.

“In the end, when I started preseason with the first team, I was hoping to go on the tour and at least try to prove myself or have the opportunity to play with the first team, but it didn’t happen.

“These things happen, and in the end, I received an offer from Mallorca and decided to go for a change of direction.”

With Barcelona holding first refusal on the winger, the ball now appears to be in their court.

As transfer strategies take shape, Virgili’s openness adds an intriguing twist: setting up what could be a compelling reunion story in the months ahead.
