Real Madrid’s Quesada confident ahead of Champions League showdown with Barcelona

Real Madrid Women manager Pau Quesada has struck a confident tone ahead of a high-stakes UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final clash, as his side prepares to face Barcelona Women.

Speaking from the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium, Quesada emphasized readiness and belief as his team gears up for the first leg of the encounter.

With momentum building and form sharpening, the focus is now on executing the game plan under pressure.

“We need to try to find that rhythm in our play that we’ve been building in recent matches, with a clinical edge in our own area,” said the gaffer.

“There will be many phases, and we have to know how to control the small moments that come our way. We’re very eager and ambitious to create an atmosphere and energy that will captivate the Di Stefano.”

As the tactical battle looms, Quesada acknowledged past encounters while stressing the importance of fine margins, especially in decisive fixtures like this.

“In the three previous Clasicos, we had chances to even take the lead, but we lacked decisiveness in the box. We will try to stay true to ourselves, to maintain our identity.

“They change things in every match, but we will fine-tune those small details to create our own game and strive for perfection throughout the 90 minutes.”

Heading into the tie on the back of seven consecutive victories, confidence within the squad is clearly on the rise.

However, Quesada remains focused on continuous improvement rather than complacency.

“We’re in good form defensively because the team is being very solid in defense. We’ve had some inconsistency in our play and attacking rhythm in a few matches, but that’s normal given the number of games.

“We’re playing at a very good level, but we need to strive for perfection and push ourselves to take another step forward.”

With kickoff approaching, the stage is set for a fierce European battle: one where preparation, precision, and composure could make all the difference.
