Tottenham Hotspur fans cancel Brighton & Hove Albion welcome plans

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have called off plans for a pre-match welcome ahead of their crucial Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion, following a key decision by new head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

In the build-up to Saturday’s encounter, anticipation had been growing for another passionate show of support along the High Road.

However, in a tactical switch off the pitch, De Zerbi opted for an earlier and more discreet team arrival, ruling out the traditional coach reception.

This decision comes after thousands of Spurs fans previously turned out in full voice to welcome the team before their clash with Nottingham Forest—a match that ultimately ended in a disappointing 3-0 defeat.

As a result, the club appears keen to reset its approach heading into another high-stakes fixture.

The organisers behind the “Show Up. Sing Up. Stay Up” campaign confirmed the cancellation, while also acknowledging the club’s communication on the matter.

“They were disappointed but support whatever Roberto sees fit in order for his players to have the best possible preparation.”

Despite the setback, the supporters’ group remains committed to backing the team, hinting at alternative plans to generate energy before kick-off.

“Other plans are being worked on to raise the atmosphere before kick-off.”

Meanwhile, the pressure continues to mount on Spurs as they battle to climb out of the relegation zone.

Currently sitting in the bottom three, they trail West Ham United by two points, with the Hammers set to face Crystal Palace.

In addition, Spurs remain three points behind Nottingham Forest and six adrift of Leeds United, who are also in action this weekend against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

As the relegation battle intensifies, Tottenham will now look to channel both fan support and tactical focus into a must-win performance on home soil.
