Benjamin Sesko believes Manchester United have enough quality to compete for silverware and has set his sights on helping the club achieve that target.
The Slovenian forward joined the Red Devils from RB Leipzig last summer and has impressed at times this season, taking time to adapt to a change of environment.
The 22-year-old has found the net 10 times across all competitions and will be hoping to add to his tally as they prepare to face Brentford later tonight.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Sesko remains confident that the club will be back competing for major honours beginning from next season after two difficult campaigns.
“I think we did great. Still, (there are) some games left but I think we’re doing great,” Sesko said.
“We have a great spirit in the team. I would like to really achieve some trophies here. Of course we need to do a lot for it, but I believe we have the capacity to do that.”
Manchester United welcome Brentford to Old Trafford on Monday night hoping for a win to boost their chances of securing a return to the UEFA Champions League ahead of next season.
The Red Devils began the season slowly, but clicked into gear upon the arrival of Michael Carrick on an interim basis in January, after Ruben Amorim was dismissed for poor performances.
Under Carrick, the entire team including Sesko have enjoyed rejuvenation and are now close to sealing a top-five spot, marking a return to the UCL after two seasons away.
The three-time European champions are presently third on the standings and a win tonight will see them cement their spot in third place.
Meanwhile, they still have league games against Liverpool, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and Brighton to come before the season comes to a conclusion.
