Barcelona’s Pedri dedicates Clasico triumph against Real Madrid to Flick’s father

Barcelona midfielder Pedri revealed the squad were driven by emotion during their title-clinching El Clasico victory, dedicating the 2-0 triumph over Real Madrid to manager Hansi Flick following the recent death of his father.

An emotional atmosphere surrounded Camp Nou before kickoff as Barcelona players wore black armbands and observed a minute’s silence in honour of Flick’s father ahead of one of the biggest matches of the season.

Barcelona produced a dominant display to defeat their fierce rivals 2-0, securing the LaLiga title in front of their home supporters and delivering a memorable night for both the club and their manager.

After the final whistle, Pedri admitted the players were determined to give Flick something special during a deeply difficult period for the German coach.

“We wanted to win it here, in a Clasico, and now it’s part of history,” Pedri told Movistar.

“We played a very good match. This has never been done before. It’s wonderful.”

The Spain international also reflected on the emotional significance of the occasion, insisting the victory belonged not only to the fans and players, but also to Flick and his family.

“We wanted to do it for Flick and for the loss he has suffered,” Pedri added. “It is also dedicated to his father.”

Pedri once again controlled the tempo of Barcelona’s midfield with another outstanding performance, dictating play, pressing aggressively and driving the team forward throughout the contest.

His influence earned him the MVP award after the match as Barcelona celebrated another league triumph under Flick’s leadership.

The victory highlighted the remarkable transformation Flick has overseen since arriving at the club, with Barca rediscovering their attacking identity and consistency in major matches.

Against Real Madrid, they looked every bit deserving champions.

The players celebrated passionately at full-time alongside supporters inside Camp Nou, but amid the joy, there was also a clear sense of unity around their manager during a painful personal moment.

For Flick, the night delivered a mixture of emotion, grief and triumph.

For Barcelona, it became another unforgettable Clasico victory written into club history.
