Coventry City have handed defender Bobby Thomas a new contract following his impressive contribution to the club’s return to the Premier League.
The Sky Blues confirmed the 25-year-old has extended his stay at the club, although details regarding the length of the agreement have not been disclosed.
Thomas joined Coventry from Burnley in 2023 and has quickly established himself as one of the team’s most reliable performers, making 129 appearances and scoring 10 goals since his arrival.
One of his most memorable moments came during the closing stages of the 2025/26 Championship campaign when his crucial goal against Blackburn helped seal Coventry’s long-awaited promotion back to the Premier League.
The centre-back expressed his delight after committing his future to the club and reflected proudly on the historic achievement.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here and it has been amazing to be a part of such a historic achievement in helping the club get back to the Premier League.
“Those memories will live with me, my friends and my family forever and I’m excited for what’s ahead!”
Thomas has become a central figure in Coventry’s defensive setup over the past two seasons, earning praise for his consistency, leadership and ability to contribute in both boxes.
His contract extension represents another important piece of business for Coventry as the club prepares for life back in the Premier League under Frank Lampard.
With momentum building around the Sky Blues, supporters will hope Thomas can continue his strong development and help the club compete successfully in the top flight next season.
