Brentford have strengthened their coaching setup with the appointment of Damien Duff as first-team assistant coach.
The former Republic of Ireland international will begin his new role later this month after leaving his position as manager of Shelbourne, where he spent more than three years in charge from November 2021 until June 2025.
Duff, 47, brings extensive experience from both his playing and coaching career, having won two Premier League titles during his time with Chelsea and earned 100 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
Brentford head coach Keith Andrews expressed his excitement at adding Duff to his coaching staff, highlighting their previous working relationship.
“I’ve known Damien for a long time,” said Andrews.
“I’ve seen him up close throughout his coaching journey. We’ve been on courses together and worked together as coaches with the Republic of Ireland national team.
“Damien will bring experience, presence and a real level of detail to our coaching department. He will add to the great group we already have and I’m very pleased that he is joining us.”
Duff’s arrival adds another experienced figure to Brentford’s technical team as the club continues preparations for the upcoming season.
