FIFA and adidas have officially unveiled the Trionda Final, the special edition official match ball that will be used for the semi-finals, third-place play-off and final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With the tournament entering its decisive phase, the new ball arrives with a refreshed identity that reflects the prestige of football’s biggest stage while retaining the cutting-edge technology that has featured throughout the competition.
Unlike previous World Cup editions, where only the colours of the official ball were updated for the latter stages, adidas has introduced an entirely distinct design for the tournament’s final four matches.
The Trionda Final combines premium gold, white and black colours, with the gold finish symbolising the FIFA World Cup trophy and the journey towards football’s ultimate prize.
The design also celebrates all 16 host cities of the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The four cities staging the semi-finals, bronze final and final—Dallas, Atlanta, Miami and New York/New Jersey—are prominently featured, while Boston, Guadalajara, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Monterrey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver are incorporated into the triangular graphic elements across the ball.
Performance-wise, the Trionda Final maintains the same four-panel construction introduced with the original TRIONDA match ball earlier in the tournament.
The innovative design provides enhanced aerodynamics, improved flight stability and superior touch under varying weather conditions, ensuring consistency for players during the World Cup’s biggest encounters.
The ball also continues to feature adidas’ latest Connected Ball Technology, equipped with a 500Hz motion sensor capable of transmitting precise real-time data to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.
The technology assists match officials with quicker and more accurate decision-making, particularly in offside situations and detecting subtle touches that may otherwise be difficult to identify.
The system has already played a significant role during the knockout rounds of the tournament.FIFA President Gianni Infantino welcomed the launch of the new ball, highlighting its symbolic importance as the tournament approaches its conclusion.
“The TRIONDA FINAL ball for the last four matches of the FIFA World Cup is here. The iconic TRIONDA has brought so much joy every time it has hit the back of the net in this FIFA World Cup and it perfectly embodies the unity and passion of the tournament’s host nations Canada, Mexico and the United States.”
He added that every decisive moment—from passes and dribbles to goals and saves—would further cement the legacy of the tournament’s 16 host cities as the competition reaches its climax.
The introduction of the Trionda Final marks another milestone in the evolution of World Cup match balls, blending innovative technology with symbolic design to celebrate the closing chapter of the largest FIFA World Cup ever staged.
As the remaining teams battle for global football’s greatest prize, the Trionda Final is set to become one of the defining symbols of the 2026 tournament, taking centre stage in every remaining match on the road to crowning the next world champions.
