Harvey Elliott has completed a season-long loan move from Liverpool to Spanish side Valencia ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The deal is structured as a straight loan deal, with no option or obligation to sign on a permanent deal and would see the England star return to Anfield at the end of the campaign.
The England U21 international joined Liverpool from Fulham at the age of 16 back in 2019 and has already spent some seasons on loan away from the club.
He was on loan during the 2020-21 season at Blackburn Rovers, before he was loaned out once again last season to Aston Villa. That move proved a wrong one for the 23-year-old as he struggled for playing minutes before eventually leaving at the end of the season.
He has now joined Valencia, where he will be hoping to play more regularly and revive his career as he looks to build momentum ahead of a possible role at Anfield next season.
“Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has joined Valencia on loan for the rest of the 2026-27 season”, the Premier League club announced.
“The 23-year-old completed the switch to the La Liga club ahead of the closure of the summer transfer window. Elliott has been with the Reds since joining from Fulham in 2019, making 149 appearances and scoring 15 goals.
“He contributed to Premier League title successes in both 2019-20 and 2024-25, alongside medals for the UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, League Cup and FA Cup.
“Elliott was on loan at Aston Villa during the previous campaign, before returning to Liverpool in the summer. We all wish Harvey the best of luck during his time with Valencia.”
Elliott, meanwhile, revealed that the main motivation behind the move to Valencia was the need to play very regularly after last season’s struggles.
“I wanted the opportunity to come here, play regularly and experience a different league” said Elliott.
“I’m very grateful to Valencia for giving me that opportunity and I feel ready to get started, but ultimately, it’s down to the coach whether he wants to put me in.”
The 23-year-old will be in contention to make his debut for the club in the 2026-27 La Liga season this weekend, when Valencia welcome Barcelona to the Mestalla.
