Sean Dyche is keeping his cool as Nottingham Forest await Morgan Gibbs-White’s fitness update ahead of Sunday’s showdown with Brighton and Hove Albion.
The midfielder sat out the win over Malmo after picking up a knock, but the Forest boss believes the issue won’t drag on.
“Hopefully it’s settling down,” Dyche said. “We’re not expecting at this stage that it’s too serious. We’re hopeful he’ll be right for the weekend.”
Those words will calm nerves, as Forest continue to chase momentum in a tough stretch of fixtures.
However, the injury room remains busy. Ola Aina, Douglas Luiz, Dilane Bakwa, Chris Wood and Oleksandr Zinchenko are still sidelined.
Dyche revealed they are edging closer to a return.
“They’re making good progress. There’s two or three of them slightly in advance to where we thought they would be. They’re making good progress with the sport science team but they still need some training with us.”
As the clock ticks toward Sunday, Forest fans can also breathe easier over Murillo’s scare. The defender was seen clutching his hamstring on Thursday, but Dyche confirmed he should be fine.
The Tricky Trees now push forward, hoping key players return in time to keep the momentum rolling.
