Ex-Manchester United star set to join Osimhen at Galatasaray after struggling at Lyon

Former Manchester United star Wilfred Zaha is set to cut his loan stint at Lyon short to return to Galatasaray due to his lack of game time.

Zaha completed a season-long loan to Lyon during the summer transfer window after coach Orkan Buruk made it clear that he would not get enough game time at Galatasaray.

At the time, it seemed like a good deal for Lyon, considering Zaha’s antecedents. However, the deal has not worked out, as the 31-year-old forward has made just five appearances across all competitions and has played just 122 minutes in all.

Coach Pierre Sage has been quite ruthless with his forwards this season, as he has often rotated his attackers based on their form and their opposition. And Zaha has been a major casualty.

Now it appears that the Ivory Coast international is weighing up his options as GFFN reports that Zaha is considering a return to Galatasaray.

The reigning Turkish champions have been one of Europe’s best performers this season, as they are yet to lose in any competition. They did some good business in the summer, securing the services of attacking talents like Victor Osimhen, Michy Batshuayi, and Gabriel Sara to add to stars like Mauro Icardi, Dries Mertens, and Yunus Akgun.

If Zaha decides to return to Galatasaray, it is unlikely that he will get a lot of game time due to the presence of top players there. Moreover, his style of play might not blend well with the way that Buruk has set up his team this season.
