Oliver Glasner has expressed disappointment over the absence of defender Maxence Lacroix for Thursday’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
The French defender was controversially sent off during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester United, after he was deemed to have prevented Matheus Cunha from a free run on goal.
The 25-year-old will now serve his one-match suspension against Spurs in Thursday’s clash, in a major blow for the Eagles.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Glasner admitted that Lacroix will be hugely missed and his side will have to find a way to play in his absence.
“He’s a big miss. But we showed against Wolves we could win, with a clean sheet. We need other ones to step up and that’s how we’ve prepared”, Glasner admitted.
“The referee decided that way and we have to accept it.”
Crystal Palace face Tottenham Hotspur in Thursday night Premier League encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s loss to Man United.
Despite taking an early lead in the clash through Lacroix, the Frenchman’s second half dismissal gave the Red Devils an advantage which they capitalized on and sealed the turnaround.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are in a poor form and are hoping to win their first game under interim head coach Igor Tudor and also a first league win in 2026.
The Europa League champions are 16th on the standings, just a single point above the drop zone with 10 games to go.
“That game is over. We took many positives from this game. But we have seen what we have to improve. Every game, every experience, is helpful”, Glasner concluded.
A win for Palace later today would move them into 13th position ahead of Brighton, while Tottenham would be locked in a battle for survival.
