Kolarov praises Inter after commanding win over Bologna at San Siro

Inter Milan manager Aleksandar Kolarov has hailed the club’s dominance after their 3–1 win over Bologna at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri controlled the tempo, dictated possession, and powered past the visitor, securing another vital three points that keep them top of Serie A.

With composed build-up and sharp attacking transitions, the host extended their winning streak to five straight league games.

From kickoff, the Serie A giants looked in command, passing confidently, pressing aggressively, and forcing The Rossoblu to defend deeper and deeper.

The breakthrough arrived as Piotr Zielinski struck first, setting the tone. Soon after, Lautaro Martinez joined the party, before Marcus Thuram finished the job with authority.

After the final whistle, assistant coach Kolarov, standing in for Chivu, who lost his voice, summed up the night with honesty and clarity.

“It was an important win,” he said. “We dominated the game from the first minute and I want to congratulate the players. We know how much details can change a game, so we pay attention to everything.

“It’s a shame we conceded the goal, but today the team put out a huge performance.”

Then, like a captain lifting the ball out of defense and driving forward, he turned to Lautaro’s leadership.

“Lautaro’s growth? He’s the same player we’ve always known. He is our captain and leader, and he deserves a lot of credit. That’s how he plays in training too, he always give 100%.

“As for his position today we wanted to almost create a square in midfield by pushing one mezzala higher and dropping him deeper, isolating Marcus one-on-one with their defender.

“He’s so good at understanding how and where to move, and the first goal came exactly from that idea. We didn’t want to change everything, just change a few things.”

He added: “Last season the team came so close to winning several trophies, but in the end didn’t manage to capitalise on everything.

“We’ve worked on some human aspects and put in a lot of work on the training ground, and I think the team is taking an important step forward.”

As the campaign shifts into its decisive stretch, Kolarov sounded both grounded and ambitious.

“When the second half of the season begins, it’s like a new league starts. We’re top of the table and we want to stay there, so there’s still a lot to do and a lot of work ahead.

“Set pieces? We worked on a few things even this morning. Palombo is in charge of that area in particular, so credit goes to both the team and him.”

With another match coming fast, like a quick counter, recovery now becomes the next strategy.

“The schedule? Recovery becomes crucial, so we’ll try to recover as well as possible ahead of the match coming up in 72 hours.”

From whistle to whistle, Inter looked organized, ruthless, and driven. And as they surge deeper into 2026, they aren’t just chasing results; they’re building belief with every match.
