Nuno Espirito Santo insists West Ham United will “keep believing” despite sitting seven points from safety after defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Speaking after the final whistle, Nuno made it clear that the fight goes on, just as a team digs deep late in extra time.
“I’ll keep on going, keep believing, keep working with the boys to realise this is part of the game sometimes,” he told Sky Sports.
“You have good moments, sometimes you have bad moments, but we have to be resilient enough to understand the situation. I’ll make sure my boys believe it also.”
Momentum may feel against West Ham, yet Nuno’s message hit like a rallying call from the touchline. When asked what he wanted fans and players to hold on to, he doubled down.
“Keep believing, keep sticking together. It’s not over yet. We’ll keep on going.
“It’s hard to ask [the fans] for anything. It’s hard to explain. We understand their frustration, sadness, and we are all the same.
“What can we say? Keep helping us. Today they showed when the team gives, they give back the support that we need. The boys showed we are here to keep fighting.”
As pressure mounts off the pitch too, Nuno was asked whether he expects backing from the board.
“Once again, the message was unity, moving up the pitch as one.”
And on whether he expected support from the West Ham board, he said: “Of course, we have to be in this together.”
With crucial fixtures ahead, the Hammers’ survival hopes now depend on resilience, belief, and turning performances into points. The margin is tight, but Nuno insists the fight is very much alive.
