Mikel Arteta backs Arsenal’s challenge for four trophies

Mikel Arteta has hailed Arsenal’s impressive form and expressed confidence in their title challenge on all four fronts this season.

The Gunners are without a major trophy since the Spaniard’s first season in charge in 2020, while they have not won the league title since the famous Invincibles in 2004

However, they have been on a consistent run of form over the season and currently sit top of the English Premier League standings, six points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

The North London side are also top of the UEFA Champions League league phase and have a 3-2 first leg advantage over Chelsea in the semifinal of the EFL Cup.

“I think we are building very good momentum and belief comes from performances and the level of consistency that we have shown throughout 32 games already this season and what we did yesterday at Stamford Bridge”, Arteta stated.

The next challenge for Arsenal is a trip to relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest, who have been very inconsistent this season despite their impressive run in the previous campaign.

The Gunners are unbeaten in their last five games against the Tricky Trees and have only lost twice in 32 matches across all competitions this season.

Both of those defeats came in the EPL, a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield and a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa at Villa Park.

“It should help us to be very convinced that we have the ability to do that, but the reality is that you have to show it in every game and there’s still so much to happen, but we are glad that we are still alive in the four competitions.”

Arsenal will be hoping for a win to extend their gap at the top of the standings over Man City, who face Man United in Saturday’s early kickoff clash.
