Real Madrid trio fires Los Blancos past Atletico into Super Cup final

Real Madrid booked their place in the Spanish Super Cup final after a commanding semi-final victory over Atletico Madrid, sealing a showdown in Castellon this Saturday with an emphatic first-half display that set the tone for the contest.

From the opening whistle, Madrid pressed with intent and were rewarded almost immediately.

Inside five minutes, Athenea pounced on a loose ball at the edge of the area, drove forward with purpose and slotted home a precise low finish to ignite the encounter.

That early breakthrough shifted the momentum firmly in Madrid’s favour and opened the floodgates.

Riding the wave, the second goal arrived just ten minutes later.

Caroline Weir showed sharp awareness to punish a defensive lapse, lifting a clever chip over Gallardo to double the advantage and further underline Madrid’s dominance.

Still hungry, the whites struck again before the 20-minute mark, this time through Linda Caicedo.

Bursting forward from deep, the Colombian attacker surged to the edge of the box and unleashed a long-range effort that bounced awkwardly in front of the goalkeeper before finding the net.

At 3–0, Madrid were in complete control heading into the break, despite Atletico creating a handful of openings they failed to convert.

The interval did little to cool the intensity, as the second half delivered chances at both ends.

Misa, making her 200th appearance for Real Madrid, produced a crucial double save early after the restart, first denying Boe Risa from distance and then reacting sharply to block Amaiur’s close-range attempt.

Madrid continued to threaten on the counter, with Caicedo coming close to extending the lead when her well-struck effort rattled the post.

Atletico eventually found a lifeline in the 73rd minute when Luany pulled one back, but the comeback never gathered real momentum.

Late opportunities fell to Shei and Caicedo, yet the scoreline remained unchanged as Madrid calmly saw out the contest.

With the victory secured, Real Madrid now turn their focus to Saturday’s final in Castellon, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final between Barcelona and Athletic Club.

After such a clinical performance, confidence will be high as they aim to lift the Super Cup trophy.
