Nottingham Forest sack Sean Dyche after 114 days in charge

Nottingham Forest have dismissed manager Sean Dyche after under four month in charge, in the wake of Wednesday’s disappointing goalless draw with Wolves.

The Tricky Trees were held at home by the Premier League’s bottom club as they failed to score despite attempting 35 attempts in the clash.

It marked the end of the road for Dyche, who only joined the club in October 2025 and leaves after just under four months in charge of the club.

The former Burnley manager had replaced Ange Postecoglou, who spent only 39 days at the club after failing to win any of his eight games in charge.

Club owner Evangelos Marinakis took the decision few hours after Wednesday’s match, according to reports released on the club’s official website.

“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach,” a statement read.

“We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the club and we wish them the best of luck for the future. We will be making no further comment at this time.”

Dyche managed 18 Premier League games during his time and guided the club to eight wins, four draws and six defeats.

The Tricky Trees have however won just two of their last 10 and are 17th on the standings, three points ahead of West Ham United in 18th position.

The 54-year-old becomes Forest’s third managerial change of the season after the departures of Nuno Espirito Santo and Postecoglou earlier in the campaign.

Former Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has been linked as a replacement in what could be his first role since he was sacked at the West Midlands club last November.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest could become the first club in Premier League history to have four permanent managers in a season and a decision on their next move should happen soon.
