Cristiano Ronaldo says he is happy at Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, despite a recent dispute that saw him miss two matches for the club.
The Portuguese captain missed the league games against Al Riyadh and Al Ittihad earlier in the month after going on a lone strike for grievances against the lack of financial support for his side.
The 41-year-old had cited Al Hilal’s massive transfer spendings as an unfair advantage over his side, especially after the former league champions had completed the signing of former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema.
Ronaldo made his return against Al-Fateh, scoring twice and also bagged another double in last weekend’s win over Al -Nazem.
“I’m very happy. As I say many times, I belong to Saudi Arabia,” Ronaldo said.
“It’s a country that welcomes very well to me, to my family and friends. I’m happy here, I want to continue here.
The most important is we keep pushing, we’re there at the top, we don’t know the results of the other opponents. Let’s see, we do our job, win, make pressure and let’s see at the end of the season”, the former Manchester United forward continued.
Al Nassr have moved to the top of the Saudi Pro League with 55 points, just one above Al Hilal after 22 rounds of matches.
Ronaldo, who is trophyless since his move to the Middle East in 2023, will be hoping to end the drought this season.
“We are on track, we are back, we are good, we have confidence. I’m very proud,” Ronaldo concluded.
Al Nassr will be back in action on Wednesday when they face bottom side Al Najma, hoping to build on their lead at the top.
