Rosenior aims to end Chelsea’s coaching career with long-term vision

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has spoken openly about his desire to bring much-needed stability to Stamford Bridge, insisting he wants to be part of a long-term project after years of upheaval.

Rosenior’s appointment makes him the ninth figure, including caretakers, to take charge of the Blues in the six years since Mikel Arteta began his reign at Arsenal.

The contrast is stark, with Chelsea now preparing to face the Premier League leaders at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of that clash, Rosenior made it clear he sees this role as more than just another short-term challenge.

“Sitting here in this chair, I want to be here for as long as possible,” Rosenior said.

“I want to be the guy – and not just me but the team, the staff, the ownership, sporting directors – I want to be a part of something really successful for a long time. That’s why I signed up for this challenge.”

From the touchline to the training ground, Rosenior believes longevity at a club is earned daily, not just on matchday.

“The reality of football is that what gives you time is being successful. You need to show your quality, not just in terms of the games, but every day.

“Every day you need to be top with the players in terms of the way you develop them, the way you put your sessions on, the way you conduct your meetings.”

Chelsea’s recent history has been defined by constant change, but Rosenior is hopeful this appointment can mark a turning point.

“I hope this is the end of the upheaval for this club. I hope I can be here for a very long time and bring the club the success it deserves.”

Sunday’s trip across London will offer another early test of that vision, as Rosenior looks to balance short-term results with a promise of long-term stability.
