Erling Haaland has reaffirmed his commitment to Manchester City on a long-term, ending speculation of an exit ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Norwegian moved to City in 2022 for around €60 million and signed a new long-term extension last year, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2034.
The 25-year-old has continued his impressive performances once more this season with 35 goals across all competitions for Manchester City, while also leading the race for the Premier League golden boot, which would mark the third since his arrival.
However, there has been speculation over his future at the club in recent months, with reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Other reports have also suggested that Haaland might be looking for an exit if Pep Guardiola leaves Manchester City at the end of the season, but the big striker has now come out to debunk those rumours in a recent interview.
I’m super happy and I’m looking forward to what’s next because I think it’s exciting times for City as a club and also me as a player”, Haaland said.
“I’m looking forward to continuing with City. It’s been a lot of change now the last couple of years, I would say in the last year”, he continued.
“There’s been lots of players that have been here for a long time. So with new players, it takes time. It’s not easy to come into a new league for someone, new country, all of this. It takes time to adapt. I think exciting times and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”
Haaland’s focus for now will be ending the season in superb goalscoring form ahead of his debut at the FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have already won the EFL Cup this season and remain in contention to win a domestic treble, as they are in a title race with Arsenal and also have a FA Cup final against Chelsea on May 16.
