Real Madrid’s Arbeloa applauds Vinicius impact in Espanyol win

Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has lavished praise on Vinicius Junior following his standout performance in the victory over Espanyol.

As Los Blancos pushed forward in their LaLiga campaign, Vinicius once again proved decisive: driving the attack, scoring twice, and setting the tempo in the final third.

Arbeloa, speaking after the match, highlighted not just the goals but the winger’s all-round influence.

“Vini Jr.’s performance is easy to assess. He had another fantastic game, scoring two great goals, leading the team’s attack, and posing a threat every time he gets the ball,” Arbeloa said.

“He’s very aggressive, intelligent, very brave, consistent.”

In football terms, it was a complete display: cutting inside, stretching defenses, and constantly forcing Espanyol onto the back foot.

However, Arbeloa also revealed that he managed the Brazilian carefully, with one eye already on the upcoming Clasico showdown.

“I held him back a bit; I didn’t want to risk him not being available for the Clasico, and that’s why I made the change.”

Beyond the attacking brilliance, the Real Madrid boss emphasized Vinicius’ work ethic off the ball: an area often overlooked but crucial in big games.

“He did another great job in that match, helping us out defensively, which is something I always appreciate.

“I’m grateful for the work he does to support the team and when he links up with our midfield.”

As the season edges toward its climax, Arbeloa sees more than just talent in the Brazilian forward; he sees leadership, consistency, and character driving the squad forward.

“Like I’ve been saying these past few months: a fantastic player, a natural leader, a teammate everyone loves, a great person.

“I’m very proud to have him as a player; I’m incredibly lucky.”

All in all, Vinicius continues to shine as a key figure for Real Madrid: combining flair with responsibility as the team builds momentum toward its biggest tests ahead.
