Wolverhampton Wanderers have dismissed head coach Rob Edwards following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, according to reports.
Edwards’ time at Molineux lasted only seven months after he replaced Vitor Pereira in November, but the former Luton Town and Middlesbrough manager could not turn around Wolves’ difficult campaign.
The 43-year-old was appointed with the task of guiding the club away from danger but ultimately failed to prevent a drop to the Championship.
Wolves ended the season at the bottom of the Premier League table, bringing an early end to Edwards’ return to the club where he previously had connections as both a player and coach.
Edwards arrived during a challenging period and was unable to deliver the results needed to secure survival.
Despite having limited time to reshape the squad and improve performances, Wolves have now decided to move in a different direction as they prepare for life back in the Championship.
The club will now begin the search for a new head coach ahead of their promotion push.
