Abdukodir Khusanov has signed a new long-term contract at Manchester City, potentially keeping him at the club until 2031.
Khusanov initially joined City in the winter transfer window in 2025 and overcame a slow start to become a major part of the squad under Pep Guardiola last season.
The 22-year-old played a major role in the Cityzens’ FA Cup and Carabao Cup successes last season and was also a key part of the team as they pushed Arsenal for the Premier League title.
Manchester City have now tied him down to a long-term extension and he will be aiming to continue the form which he showed during the second half of last season.
“This is a great day for me and my family – I am really happy to extend my stay at City”, Khusanov revealed.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute since I arrived in Manchester and I feel I am growing and learning a lot as a player.
“I have a new challenge now, which is to impress Enzo Maresca and his staff and ensure I am in his team regularly. I am determined to do that.”
Guardiola has already left City at the end of last season, with former Chelsea boss Maresca replacing him and Khusanov will be hoping to play a big role as they continue their rebuild.
The 22-year-old has already made 47 appearances for the club across all competitions and narrowly missed out on the player of the season award to Nico O’Reilly last season.
“Thank you to the City fans for all of your support. It has been really important as I’ve settled in England and the Premier League”, Khusanov continued.
“Now I am only looking forward. I’m ready to do everything I can to help this Club be as a successful as possible.”
Manchester City begin their 2026-27 season with the FA Community Shield against Arsenal on August 16, before kickstarting their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on August 23.
