EPL: Brentford’s Thomas Frank rates Chelsea as ‘best team’ in the league ahead of weekend’s clash

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s English Premier League match with second-placed Chelsea, Brentford manager Thomas Frank has claimed that the Blues are the best side in the league this season.

Brentford face an in-form Chelsea on Sunday who are won their last four league games and are unbeaten in their last ten games in all competitions under Italian coach Enzo Maresca ahead of Sunday’s West London derby at Stamford Bridge.

“They are maybe even more in-form than Liverpool, even though they are top of the league.

They are playing incredible football and are well-coached. Maresca has done a top job so far with his coaching staff and they look extremely dangerous”, Frank said.

The Blues have struggled for form under previous managers since the takeover by Todd Boehly in 2022 but Maresca has brought stability and consistency to a young squad and the 51-year old Frank has heaped praises on the Blues.

“[Chelsea] have so many threats going forward and have top-quality players all over the pitch. I expect an unbelievably difficult game.”

The Brentford manager also fancies his side’s chances of claiming victory in the match despite the Blues superiority in quality.

“They are massive favourites but, of course, we believe that we can compete against anyone and we believe we can win”, he continued.

Thomas Frank will hope his side can put an end to their dismal away form while Enzo Maresca Blues will look to cut the gap between them and league leaders, Liverpool as they continue their brilliant start to the season.
