Former Premier League champions Manchester United, are reportedly interested in a move for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo this January.
The Bees forward is highly admired by Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim, and a move for the £40 million-rated forward could be on the cards before the end of the January transfer window.
The 25-year old has been the star performer of Thomas Frank’s Brentford team, since joining from French outfit Troyes in 2019 and has continued his impressive form into the 2024/25 season.
His 13 league goals this season is level with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, while only bettered by Liverpool’s talisman Mohamed Salah and Manchester City’s Norwegian machine Erling Haaland. He has also created four goals for his teammates in 20 league appearances this season.
With England forward Marcus Rashford and Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee both linked with moves away from Old Trafford this winter, Mbeumo is seen as a suitable replacement due to his versatility and ability to play in different forward roles.
His experience of playing in the Premier League is also an added advantage, while his pressing abilities and knack for scoring in ‘big games’ will be vital to Ruben Amorim’s setup.
North London giants Arsenal were the first club interested in his signature, but Manchester United could be set for a swoop for the Cameroon international and given his brilliant form, he could be ready for the next big step in his career.
