Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas are really keen on securing the services of Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho as confirmed by club president Serdal Adali.
Sancho remains an exiled member of the Manchester United squad after being excluded from all of the Red Devils’ preparations ahead of the new Premier League season and the England international is widely expected to permanently cut ties with the Old Trafford giants this summer.
He reportedly favours a return to Borussia Dortmund where he initially burst onto the scene but it remains unclear whether the German club hold a similar interest in reuniting with the Manchester City academy alum.
With the transfer window only a couple of weeks away from slamming shut, former Super Lig champions Besiktas have now registered their interest in acquiring the talented Englishman as revealed by Sky Sports.
“I want it as much as the club wants it,” Adali told the media when asked about a deal for Sancho.
“I’ve said this about other transfers as well. A player’s decision to come to Turkiye is crucial. We don’t have the luxury of buying every player we want for a large sum. We have a budget, too.
“I want it more than our fans. We’ll do everything we can to bring him here. It’s important that the player wants to come to Turkiye and Besiktas. We don’t want to force anyone to come because of money.”
Although no concrete progress has been made in terms of making the deal happen, Besiktas fans are thrilled by the idea of Sancho becoming a Black Eagle and they’ve made their feelings known on the English star’s recent Instagram post.
If Besiktas can make this deal happen, Sancho will reunite with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the manager who convinced him to swap Dortmund for Manchester.
