Fulham manager Marco Silva has revealed that Alex Iwobi could be available for Saturday’s clash against Brentford.
Iwobi, 29, played 76 minutes in last weekend’s win over newly-promoted Leeds United, but picked up an slight injury during training, leading to doubts over his fitness.
The Super Eagles star has developed into one of the most consistent performers for the London club and contributed 15 goals in the league last season.
He was also among the top-ranked players for chances created, highlighting his remarkable improvement since joining Marco Silva’s side.
“No fresh news, some knocks, but nothing serious. Nothing to change anything special”, Marco Silva revealed.
“[Alex] Iwobi trained this morning, no serious problem. Let’s see his reaction. We took care of him.”
The Cottagers head into their fifth league match of the season in front of their home fans, seeking a second straight victory.
They are currently 11th on the standings with five points from their first four league matches, with one win, two draws and a lone defeat.
Fulham have recorded draws against Brighton and Manchester United, while their only win so far this season came against Leeds United in the last match-day.
Manager Marco Silva also responded to questions about his commitment to the club, with rumors of an exit circulating the news.
“I don’t want [my contract] to be a distraction. I’m fully focused since I joined. We had some conversations last season, we are always speaking. The right time to talk about it will come”, he continued.
