Brighton forward Julio Enciso is closing in on a £17.3m transfer to Strasbourg. Reports suggest the 21-year-old will spend a year in Ligue 1 before making the switch to Chelsea.
It is understood the deal will be completed in the coming days. Brighton are also inserting a sell-on clause as part of the agreement.
The connection between the French top-tier outfit and the Blues is once again in play. Both clubs are under the BlueCo ownership, led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
Strasbourg have already taken young talents from Stamford Bridge this summer. Mike Penders, Kendry Paez, and Mamadou Sarr are all on loan at the French side.
Enciso’s move adds another layer to Enzo Maresca’s long-term squad building.
The forward will sharpen his game in Ligue 1 before making the expected switch to the Premier League giants.
