Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has expressed satisfaction with the quality of players in his squad, following their 4-0 rout of Werder Bremen on Friday night.
The German champions geared up for their trip to Cyprus in midweek for their UCL clash against Pafos with a convincing win that continues their 100% start to the 2025/26 campaign.
Before the start of the season, much emphasis was laid on how the team would fare in their title defense, after missing out on several key targets.
However, the Bayern Munich manager has enjoyed the luxury of resting several key players across games, with impressive displays from all members of the squad.
“There was a lot of talk at the start of the season about our squad depth, but for me the most important thing is to really have 100% confidence in every single player”, Kompany said.
“When someone is out and I have to replace him with someone else, I don’t have the feeling that I have to expect any less. Today was a good day for Tom Bischof. We have to use the entire squad and rely on all players.”
Harry Kane made history on the night, becoming the fastest player to reach 100 goals for an European club, achieving the feat in 104 matches.
The English captain beat both Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo to the record, with both players reaching the historic figure in 105 games.
Jonathan Tah and Konrad Laimer added to Kane’s double, to increase Bayern’s lead to five points at the top, ahead of the remaining round of matches.
“I’m now in my second season here. Things are different to what they were in the first few months last season. It’s no longer about the basics because now they understand and know them. We can now focus on the details.
“When a player has to play in another position or another role, they immediately understand it because we’ve been working together for 16 months,” the Belgian added.
