William Saliba has voiced his confidence in Arsenal’s pursuit of silverware, insisting that the team is capable of winning the quadruple by the end of the season.
The Gunners are without a major piece of silverware since achieving victory in the FA Cup in 2020, putting manager Mikel Arteta under intense pressure to deliver.
They have come so close to winning the English Premier League in recent years, finishing second on the standings for three consecutive campaigns.
However, the North London side have stepped up their chase for silverware this season and currently sit top of both the EPL standings and the UEFA Champions League standings.
The Gunners are also in the semifinals of the EFL Cup, where they will compete with Chelsea in a two-legged semifinal in January.
“Yes, of course, because we know that in every competition we play, we know we can win it”, Saliba said when asked about Arsenal’s chances of winning laurels this season.
“We have been close in the Premier League in the past three seasons, and last season we were in the semi-finals of the Champions League and the Carabao Cup, so we know that we can win every competition.
“But we have to show that on the pitch and we have to start winning trophies now.”
Arsenal host Brighton in the league this weekend, as they look to consolidate their top spot on the standings.
The Gunners are currently two points ahead of Manchester City, who occupy second position and visit Nottingham Forest in their own clash.
“We are in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup so there are three games left for us, and we have to do the job in January against Chelsea. It will be a big game, a big derby, so we have to keep going. We know that we are close and we have to learn the lessons from last season”, the Frenchman added.
“At the end of your career we count our trophies, and the Carabao Cup is one of them – and now we are in the semi-final and of course we want to win this competition, like every competition that we play.”
