Ryan Gravenberch wants the run to continue. He wants Liverpool to carry real momentum into 2026. And he backed that message with another decisive display at Anfield.
The midfielder struck first in the 2-1 win over Wolves. Florian Wirtz followed up moments later with another sharp finish. Then Santiago Bueno pulled one back. But Liverpool held the line. And the Reds kept their winning streak rolling.
This victory arrived on the back of results against Brighton and Tottenham. And now the unbeaten run stretches to seven games. Confidence feels louder. The football looks smoother. The belief grows week after week.
“I think in the first half we played really good,” he told liverpoolfc.com. “We created good chances and scored two goals. Then what you see in the second half, we’ve conceded again at a set-piece and then they know they can maybe score the next one and they come. But I think at the end we fight and we showed character.
“Of course. As always, we stick together. It’s just run, run and trying to win your duels and I think at the end we did that.”
He added: “I know Curtis. He loves to take the ball and dribble from the back. He’s really comfortable and he almost never loses the ball. It’s really nice to play with him and it gives you more confidence to bring the ball forward.
“I think always when you score you have a really good feeling. It was a really nice assist from Jeremie [Frimpong] as well and I saw the gap on the right side and it went nicely.
“I’m happy that he is back. We know what we have with Jeremie. I’m happy that he could do something for the team.
“Of course. He played for us and also for Wolves. We are the two teams he played for in England. It was nice as well to have his kids as mascots. We wanted to give him something back.
“I think we can do a bit better in the second half. Of course we play a lot of games and players get tired, but I think if you get tired you have to keep the ball and not go forward always.
“I think we could do better and just keep the ball playing and let them run and they will get tired from that. Then it’s finding the right moment. We didn’t do it but I think we have to keep working on that.
“Of course. We always try to win and you see as well that hopefully we get momentum from now on. We just [need to] keep going and going. I’m really happy with the three points.”
So Liverpool surge into the new year with belief. Another battle won. Another test passed. And, as Gravenberch insists, the chase is only just beginning.
