Noni Madueke has maintained focus on Arsenal’s quadruple push and says the fans have every right to be excited after their impressive 4-0 win over Wigan in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Gunners progressed to the fifth round of the competition which they last won in 2020, after seeing off their League One opponents in comfortable fashion.
The North London side remain in contention on all four fronts this season, as they continue their push for a historic quadruple.
Mikel Arteta’s side currently hold a four-point gap at the top of the Premier League over Manchester City, while both teams face-off in the Carabao Cup final next month.
Meanwhile, they also advanced to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League after winning all of their eight league-phase games and have also reached the next round of the FA Cup.
“They [the fans] have every right to be [excited]. We’re working hard to try and deliver the type of season I think it ought to be with the way we’re performing right now”, Madueke stated.
Arsenal injury crisis continued ahead of the match with Riccardo Calafiori pulling out during the warmups and was replaced by Bukayo Saka.
Madueke opened the scoring in the 11th minute after brilliant work by Eberechi Eze, who also assisted Gabriel Martinelli’s second.
Jack Hunt put the ball into his net for the third, before Gabriel Jesus rounded off scoring in a rampant 27 minutes for Arsenal.
The Gunners will find out their opponents in the next round layer tonight ahead of the clash between Macclesfield and Brentford.
“That’s our main focus. It’s exciting, but we need to carry on doing the right things every single day and see where we are at the end”, Madueke added.
Arsenal return to action on Wednesday in a rescheduled league match when they visit the league’s bottom side Wolves, hoping for victory.
