Liverpool’s Frimpong suffers injury during international duty with Netherlands

Liverpool’s injury concerns have deepened once again, with Jeremie Frimpong forced off during the Netherlands’ 1-1 friendly draw against Ecuador in Eindhoven.

The right-back, who has endured a stop-start debut season at Anfield, was introduced at halftime by Dutch manager Ronald Koeman.

However, just as he looked to make an impact, the 25-year-old was substituted only 13 minutes later, raising fresh concerns over his fitness.

“That was a blow, we had to substitute him,” said Koeman after the game.

As the situation unfolds, Frimpong now faces a race against time to be fit for Liverpool’s upcoming high-stakes fixtures.

The Reds are set to face Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-final, followed closely by a crucial Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

This latest setback adds to a growing list of injury troubles for Frimpong, marking his fourth injury of the campaign.

Consequently, he has already missed 19 matches this season, disrupting his rhythm and consistency since arriving at the club.

With the business end of the season approaching, Liverpool will be hoping for a swift recovery.

However, given his recent injury record, uncertainty continues to hover over Frimpong’s availability at a critical stage of the campaign.
