Roberto De Zerbi has expressed confidence that Tottenham Hotspur can win their remaining Premier League matches this season , as they aim to avoid relegation at the end of the campaign.
Spurs’ winless run in the league in 2026 continued after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Brighton and Hove Albion, while De Zerbi’s wait for a first win in charge also continued.
The result further dented their hopes of a survival and leaves them in 18th position, ahead of the other rounds of fixtures of gameweek 32.
Speaking after the match, De Zerbi who secured his first point since taking over, believes the Europa League champions are well equipped to win their remaining games this season.
“I always believe in the qualities of the players. They played a good game. I think we can play better than today, with more quality, more calm, especially when we are in ball possession, but in this moment we need this spirit, this attitude, this mentality, and it’s not finished yet”, De Zerbi said.
“We have another five games – it’s tough, every one of us knows it’s a tough moment, it’s a difficult situation – but we have another five games, 15 points, and this team is able to win five games in a row.”
Pedro Porro gave Tottenham the lead with the first goal of the De Zerbi era, before Kaoru Mitoma equalized with a stunner before halftime.
Xavi Simons then put Spurs back in front with a stunning effort, but Georginio Rutter’s effort in stoppage-time sealed a point for Brighton.
“Now it’s difficult to hear my words, but if you watch the players, if you analyse the level of the players, I think we can win five games in a row”, De Zerbi added.
“Not to be arrogant, because I’m not arrogant, especially now, but we have enough qualities to fight and to win games in a row.”
Tottenham now have league games against Wolves (A), Aston Villa (A), Leeds United (H), Chelsea (A) and Everton (H) to save their season and secure their top-flight status.
