Former Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino believes the club’s ownership group has a long-term vision; but insists clarity is now crucial after a turbulent run.
After returning to the Premier League in 2023, Pochettino’s stint at Stamford Bridge ended just a year later despite guiding the Blues to a sixth-place finish.
Since then, the managerial carousel has continued to spin, with BlueCo recently parting ways with Liam Rosenior after only 23 games in charge.
As the situation unfolds, Pochettino acknowledged the existence of a strategy but suggested fans and observers are still searching for direction.
“I think they have a plan. Maybe it is completely different than it was in the past with (former owner Roman) Abramovich,” he said.
“It’s true it’s not easy for people to understand…I think they need to explain the plan.”
Meanwhile, Pochettino has shifted focus to the international stage, preparing to lead the United States men’s national soccer team into this summer’s World Cup on home soil.
Yet, even as he embraces that challenge, the Argentine tactician has one eye on a possible return to England.
“One day yes, because I really like England,” he said.
“I think my profile – my human profile and my coaching profile – match very well with the Premier League.”
