Juventus boss Spalletti calls for improvement after Hellas Verona draw

Juventus were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona at the Allianz Stadium, and afterwards, head coach Luciano Spalletti delivered a candid assessment of his side’s performance.

From the opening whistle, Juve showed promise and intent, but as the game progressed, the tempo dropped and control slipped away.

As a result, Verona grew into the contest, creating moments on the counter that kept the hosts on edge.

Reflecting post-match, Spalletti admitted his side failed to capitalize on key phases of the game, stressing the need for sharper execution going forward.

“We must always take stock of what’s happening and then try to improve for the next matches,” Spalletti said.

“It’s clear we’re disappointed because, with a bit more composure, we could have taken control of the match.

“We started well, but then we didn’t do enough to push the game forward; we let them break out a few times and create those counter-attacks that forced us to do a lot of running.”

He added: “You always have to keep everything under control, stay alert.

“We need to be the most critical of ourselves, because it’s through self-criticism that we improve.”

Meanwhile, as the Serie A race intensifies, the Bianconeri know that dropped points at this stage could prove costly.

Therefore, Spalletti’s message is clear: his players must regroup quickly, sharpen their approach, and rediscover control if they are to finish the campaign strongly.
