Paris Saint-Germain have advanced to the final of the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League after edging German side Bayern Munich in their semifinal encounter.
The defending champions marked their second consecutive appearance and a third final in six years following a 1-1 draw in the second leg to advance 6-5 on aggregate.
The first leg ended 5-4 in favour of PSG last week, setting a new record for the most goals scored in a Champions League semifinal clash, but the second leg was played out totally different.
Instead, only two goals were scored on the night as the French side advanced to yet another European final.
It took just a few minutes on the clock to go in front when Ousmane Dembele fired them ahead to send them 6-4 ahead on aggregate.
The referee then took centre stage with two controversial decisions in the first half. First, he refused to show Nuno Mendes a second booking for a handball, instead awarding a free kick to PSG for a supposed handball by Konrad Laimer in the buildup to the play.
Then, the German side were denied a penalty after a clearance from Vitinha hit teammate Joao Neves inside the box, with the referee waving away appeals.
Both sides continued to create chances at both ends of the pitch, with PSG getting the better of the chances, but the scoreline remained the same.
Harry Kane netted in stoppage-time to make the scores 1-1 and set up a tense finish, but it proved too late as PSG advanced 6-5 on aggregate and moved to the final for a second straight season.
The French champions will face Arsenal in the final on May 30 in Budapest, after the Gunners edged Atletico Madrid 2-1 in their own semifinal encounter, reaching a first UCL final in 20 years.
