Liverpool have unveiled the first images of a permanent memorial dedicated to Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva following their tragic deaths in a car accident last July.
The emotional tribute, titled Forever 20, will stand at Anfield as a lasting symbol of remembrance for the beloved forward and his brother, whose passing deeply affected the football world and Liverpool supporters alike.
At the heart of the memorial is a flowing heart-shaped sculpture inspired by Jota’s iconic goal celebration: a gesture that became synonymous with some of his most memorable moments in a Liverpool shirt.
The design also features the numbers 20 and 30, representing the shirt numbers worn by Jota and Silva during their careers.
Liverpool confirmed the memorial will include lyrics from the chant supporters continue to sing in Jota’s honour during the 20th minute of every home match this season, creating a powerful connection between the tribute and the fans who still mourn his loss.
The sculpture will be placed along 97 Avenue near Anfield, the same location where thousands of supporters gathered to leave flowers, scarves, cards, banners, artwork and football shirts in the days following the devastating accident.
That area quickly transformed into one of the most emotional scenes Anfield has witnessed in recent memory as fans from across the world paid tribute to the Portuguese brothers.
Liverpool said further details regarding the official unveiling ceremony will be announced in the coming weeks.
Since the tragedy, tributes to Jota have remained a constant presence around the club, with supporters continuing to honour him during matches and across social media.
The chant dedicated to the former forward has become one of the most emotional moments inside Anfield this season, reflecting the lasting impact he left on teammates, fans and the wider Liverpool family.
Jota was admired not only for his goals and relentless work ethic, but also for his humility and connection with supporters during his time at the club.
Now, with Forever 20, Liverpool are ensuring his legacy, and that of Andre Silva, will forever remain part of Anfield’s history.
