Alvaro Arbeloa has expressed satisfaction with Real Madrid’s performance after their 1-0 win at Sevilla in the La Liga over the weekend.
Los Blancos sealed a second consecutive win after also defeating Real Oviedo 2-0 last week, although they were made to work really hard for all three points.
Vinicius Junior scored the only goal of the game as Real Madrid claimed their 26th league win of the season as they continue to end the season strongly.
Speaking after the match, Arbeloa, who was involved in a heated post-match row with Kylian Mbappe last week, was impressed with the overall performance from the record European champions and also called for the same in their final match of the season against Athletic Bilbao.
“Let’s see. I don’t know if they’re going to change the date or not. I don’t know how things stand with Athletic and if there could be multiple ties, but if you’re telling me they’re going to change it, we’ll wait to see what day they schedule the match to organize the week”, Arbeloa said.
“Depending on the day, we’ll organize training sessions and see which players we have available because some have come out with some discomfort. It’s the last match, a day of goodbyes for sure for some players. We’ll have to try to play a great match with our people, enjoy every minute with this jersey, and from my side as well.
“I am very satisfied with all my players and their effort. It’s clear that we are very aware that we haven’t met the objectives we had and that we always want to improve. I’ve been here for four months, and I think both have tried to give their best, each with their own challenges.”
Real Madrid will conclude their campaign this weekend against Athletico Club, hoping for a win to end a difficult campaign on a high.
