England forward Kane reveals David Beckham’s inspiring World Cup messages

England captain Harry Kane has disclosed that Three Lions legend Sir David Beckham has been providing encouragement throughout the FIFA World Cup, revealing the former skipper regularly sends him messages after matches as England continue their quest for global glory.

The Bayern Munich striker shared the details after Beckham paid a special visit to Thomas Tuchel’s squad ahead of Saturday’s highly anticipated quarter-final showdown against Norway in Miami.

England trained at the facilities of Major League Soccer side Inter Miami, the club Beckham famously co-owns, with the Manchester United icon watching the session alongside his sons, Romeo and Cruz.

Before the players stepped onto the training pitch, Beckham spent time speaking with members of the squad in the gym, offering support and words of encouragement.

His visit further highlighted the close relationship he has maintained with England’s current generation of players throughout the tournament.

Kane admitted Beckham has remained in regular contact during the World Cup, offering congratulations and motivation after every game.

“He just wished us luck. After most games, he messages me, and we stay in touch.”

The England captain praised Beckham’s unwavering commitment to the national team, describing him as someone who continues to inspire players long after hanging up his boots.

“He’s a big England fan. We all know how much it meant for him to represent England and be captain and play the way he did every time he wore the shirt, so he was there to support us.”

Beckham captained England during one of the most memorable periods in the country’s football history, earning 115 international caps and becoming one of the nation’s most iconic sporting figures.

His experience and leadership continue to command enormous respect within the current squad.

Kane also expressed gratitude for Beckham’s hospitality, with England making use of Inter Miami’s state-of-the-art training complex as they prepared for one of their biggest matches of the tournament.

“Obviously, we were using his home, the home that he built, so we appreciate him doing that for us.”

The striker added that Beckham’s presence made a positive impression across the squad.

“It was good to catch up with him, and for some of the other lads to have a chat with him. He’s an England legend.”

As England chase a place in the World Cup semi-finals, Kane hopes the team can repay Beckham’s faith by producing another memorable performance on the biggest stage.

“He was wishing us well and hopefully we can do him proud tomorrow.”

Beckham’s influence on football extends well beyond his playing career. Since joining LA Galaxy in 2007, he has played a pivotal role in raising the profile of Major League Soccer.

His groundbreaking contract included the option to purchase an expansion franchise, eventually leading to the creation of Inter Miami.

The club has grown into one of the league’s biggest attractions, particularly following the arrival of Lionel Messi, while preparations continue for the opening of its new 26,700-seat stadium after the World Cup.

For England, however, the immediate focus remains firmly on Norway. With Kane leading the attack and the squad receiving encouragement from one of the nation’s greatest-ever captains, the Three Lions will hope Beckham’s inspirational visit provides another psychological boost as they continue their pursuit of World Cup success.
