Gabriel Jesus has described his move to Barcelona as a dream come true after enduring an uncertain period at Arsenal that saw him training separately from his teammates while his future remained unresolved.
The Brazilian forward has now completed a major new chapter in his career, swapping North London for Catalonia and joining one of world football’s most iconic clubs.

“When I started to think it was a real possibility, it made me very excited, and made me want to be here a lot.”

Jesus confirmed that he spoke with fellow Brazilian Raphinha, as well as former Manchester City teammates Joao Cancelo, Rodri and Eric Garcia, as discussions over his move to Barcelona progressed.
Their message was overwhelmingly positive, with Jesus receiving encouraging feedback about life inside the Barcelona dressing room and the environment surrounding the club.
“They only had good things to say about Barcelona, the dressing room, the players, the staff, the coaching,” he added.
For the 29-year-old, the transfer carries even greater personal significance because Barcelona had previously appeared on his career horizon years ago.
A decade after that earlier opportunity failed to materialise, football has brought him back to the same destination — this time with more experience, major trophies and a fresh hunger to succeed.
“I have the opportunity now to be here at Barca now. I had the opportunity 10 years ago, but life took me in a different direction. But now, I can be here. It’s a dream for me.”
Jesus now arrives at Barcelona determined to make the most of an opportunity he once thought had passed him by.
