Michelle Agyemang crowned Sunday Times Young Sportswoman of the Year

Michelle Agyemang has added another major honour to her rising career after being named the Sunday Times Young Sportswoman of the Year for 2025, a recognition driven by her outstanding 2024/2025 campaign at both club and international levels.

To set the pace last season, the striker joined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan and made an immediate impact, finding the net five times across 22 appearances.

That strong domestic form soon propelled her into the spotlight, earning her a place in England’s squad for Euro 2025.

On the continental stage in Switzerland, Agyemang truly stepped up when it mattered most.

She delivered decisive goals in dramatic comeback victories over Sweden and Italy during the quarter-finals and semi-finals, performances that not only kept England’s title hopes alive but also secured her the Young Player of the Tournament award.

Meanwhile, the new season began with another loan spell at Brighton, yet momentum briefly stalled when an ACL injury sustained on international duty in October forced her return to north London for rehabilitation.

Even so, the setback has done little to slow her growing reputation within the game.

For Agyemang, this latest honour further strengthens an already impressive awards list that includes recognition from the SJA Sports Awards, Golden Girl, and Sports Personality of the Year.
