Chelsea striker Liam Delap has hailed the impact of head coach Liam Rosenior at the club, after they progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 4-0 win over Hull City on Friday night.
The former Strasbourg coach arrived at the club last month as a replacement for Enzo Maresca and has already made his impact felt on the team.
The Blues enjoyed another impressive win in the competition, after they had seen off Charlton Athletic 5-1 in the previous round.
The clash also marked a return to the MKM Stadium for both Delap and Rosenior, who previously worked at the club.
“I’ve known the new boss from before. The messages we get, we’re all buying into it and you can see that in the results we’re getting”, Delap stated.
“It was a really good evening for us. Being back here, I have good memories. It was a good night and the result we wanted.
“We showed dominance in the first half but didn’t put our chances to bed. The second half was different.”
Chelsea recorded a comfortable 4-0 over the Championship outfit to reach the next round of the FA Cup.
Portuguese forward Pedro Neto bagged a hat-trick, while Estevao Willian was also on the scoresheet.
It was an impressive night for Delap, who had three assists in the clash and was unlucky not to be on the scoresheet.
“I need to keep myself fit and keeping the rhythm. The end of the season is going to be really challenge, so we need everyone dialled in”, Delap added.
“It’s always different, there are so many different why the team is selected. It’s not always the same 11 and it’s part of football. But you get the job done.”
Chelsea will return to action when they face relegation-threatened Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
