Glasner pleased with Palace’s progress after win over 10-man Spurs

Oliver Glasner has expressed satisfaction with Crystal Palace’s progress after they secured a comeback 3-1 win over 10-man Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.

Spurs last win in the Premier League was against the Eagles last December, but Glasner’s men were much more improved this time around and capitalized on their advantage.

Tottenham, searching for their first league win of 2026, surged ahead through Dominic Solanke in the 34th minute after Archie Gray found Dominic Solanke in space, allowing the striker to tap home from close range.

Micky van de Ven was then sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity after pulling down Ismaila Sarr, with Crystal Palace equalizing from the penalty spot six minutes after Spurs’ opener.

“We had more time in the last weeks to train again, integrate the new players,” Glasner said after the match.

“We can see the new players are knowing the way we want to play better and better.

“It’s not my right to talk about Spurs. I talk about Crystal Palace.”

Club-record signing Jorgen Strand Larsen scored another goal to put Palace in front for the first time in the clash, before Sarr bagged his brace with a clean finish, with Adam Wharton assisting both goals.

There was very little action in the second half as Palace were content with the scoreline, which moved them up to 13th on the standings.

“I remember we lost 3-1 here. And we had no chance to win this game. They were so much better and when I see the last two games we’ve won here, I think we were better than we were and that’s the development of Crystal Palace, and that’s what I’m looking at”, Glasner concluded.

Crystal Palace will not be in action until next Thursday when they face AEK Larnaca in the first leg of their Europa Conference League Round of 16 clash.
